Staying Thin During Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is meant to be about giving thanks, but many of us absolutely cannot wait to indulge in all the appetizing food. As tempting as it is, here are a few tips to keep in mind if you’re concerned about staying thin or if you simply do not want to feel guilty.

Don’t Skip Meals
– some people enjoy sleeping in and skipping out on breakfast knowing that they will be loading up during Thanksgiving dinner. We advise that you stick to your normal routine of eating so that you aren’t “going off of the deep end” come dinnertime.

Eat Healthy Options – Thanksgiving is not full of unhealthy options – in fact; many traditional options can be healthy for you. Lean turkey, yams, customized salads, we’re sure you’ll have healthy options available. Just go easy on the gravy and try pacing yourself.

Alcohol
– alcohol consumption typically leads to worse decisions – especially around food. For some, simple moderation on the alcohol front is enough to help them stay smart and thing throughout the day.

Workout
– working out the day after Thanksgiving is a great way to tackle the regret if you overdosed on dinner. It doesn’t take much either – a simple walk around the block is enough, but brownie points for you if you take it a step further (maybe brownie points are a great option in this scenario?).

All in all, whether you decide to indulge or not, make sure you enjoy your time with your families – and be thankful for the positive things in your life!

Happy Thanksgiving from the team here at Rexford Surgical Institute!
